Find my iPhone pinging won't shut off

We use the play sound function all the time in our family.

Yesterday, 9/23/23, I pinged my daughter's iPad and it took her 15 minutes to shutoff the sound. It usually shuts off automatically after a few minutes.

Today 9/24/23, I pinged my own phone and I literally couldn't shutoff the sound until I turned the phone off.

SOMETHING HAS CHANGED!

iPhone does not make noise when I ping it from Find My The phone makes no noise. I found it, no thanks to Find My pinging the phone. I’m looking at it. I have my Air Pods in and Siri is telling me A Sound is Playing from my iPhone, but tell you what, there is no sound playing. It is on vibration, as it usually is, but I am pinging it because it’s lost. So, I want it to make a sound, not vibrate. Like, this isn’t rocket surgery - when the phone is being commanded to make a noise because the user is using the Find My app to make the lost item make noise, the phone should override the vibration mode and any volume control, and make loud noise. Come on. Am I missing something?
