MacBook Air black screen

When I turn on my MacBook Air the Apple logo appears for a few seconds then disappears. After several tries the screen appears with the prompt to enter my password, I enter it and the screen goes black.

Sometimes Mac displays will show a blank, grey, black or blue screen on or after startup.
