Replacement or Repair for faulty iPhone 15 Pro?

I got my iPhone 15 Pro on Friday (Sep 22) and I was using it for around 15 minutes when it crashed. The screen turned off and every time I would press the power button, it would only show the Apple logo for a few seconds before turning back off. Less than an hour later, I stopped being able to even see the Apple logo; since then, the screen has been completely black and unresponsive.

I tried to go connect the phone to my Mac and go into DFU Mode to restore the iPhone, but after it extracts the software, it says "The iPhone “iPhone” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1669)." I then did some research and I found out that this is a hardware issue (even though I did not drop the phone, spill water on it, or anything of the like).

Is there any way that I can get a replacement iPhone? If I ask for a repair would they replace it completely or just repair the hardware issue?

My screen goes purple in some blocks and also iPhone does not respond for some seconds, I bought it from Vodafone 2 days ago. Today, I went to Amac, which is an Authorized Apple Retailer for this issue. the man told me that they will do a DFU reset and then if it is related to software, I have to pay 40 euros for that, otherwise, they will send it for repair. It is really annoying to send your 2 days old iphone for repair. I am doing the DFU reset now by myself, but still you do not like to have a devide with this price and you can not replace it when it is not working appropriatly. I have not had this problem ever with iphones.

Was it purchased brand new in a factory sealed box?

  • Yes. Assuming Vodafone is an Authorized Apple Retailer, you have fourteen days to exchange the iPhone.
  • No. The fact you bought it 2 days ago, while it certainly is relevant to your frustration, has little else to do with the issue. Perhaps Vodafone would offer assistance.
