If you bought the iPhone 15 in the USA, you cannot place a physical sim in it. USA iPhones are e sim only.

Well, this depends on where you might have purchased the iPhone. iPhones sold in the U.S., for example, do not accept SIM cards.
Hopefully you purchased your iPhone in the country where it will be used.
