I would like to use my late 2013 iMac as a monitor for my 2020 MacBook Pro

Which connector should I purchase? I ordered a minidisplay port to thunderbolt 2 connector but the thunderbolt 2 end doesn't fit any of the adaptors that I have for the mac book pro

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.5

The MBP is too new and Target Display Mode has been dead for many years. If the 2013 is in perfect working order you can try third party solutions like Luna display however your bet is to simply buy an external display. Dead simple to set up, the most reliable and cheap as external displays can be had starting at $100.

That's interesting... when I checked to see if my devices were compatible with Luna on their site, the 2020 MacBook Pro was, but the site told me that the 2013 iMac was not. I have one more connector coming tomorrow to see if I can connect the two and use my beautiful iMac screen... if that fails, I'll buy a new monitor.
