Control Center disappeared from Apple Watch SE after update.

After the last Apple Watch OS update, Control Center disappeared from my SE watch. I did a soft reset and then a hard reset, and neither worked. I even tried wiping my watch and reinstalling everything, but still no Control Center. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

to bring control panel, you need to press side button (the one below round bottom). Control panel doesn’t swipe up anymore like it used to, I guess it was changed with the new update. I did everything too, only took me 2hr to figure it out…

Momentarily press and release the flat oval button in the side.

DO NOT hold the button, as that brings up the Emergency calling display.

If the iPhone ping is not in the Control Center, scroll to the end and tap “Edit”, where you will be able to add it to the control center display.

Do you mean can't find it after you've read the instructions that have been given multiple times in this thread?

From the post immediately before yours:

You access the Control Center by pressing the side button.

Use Control Center on Apple Watch - Apple Support

DO NOT hold the button, as that brings up Emergency services and the power off icon.

Settings -> Accessibility -> Side Button Click Speed

“Side Button Click Speed” can adjust the press and release timing, so you get the Control Center display every time. Adjusting The “Side Button Click Speed” is also useful for Apple Pay’s double press and release. There is “Default” (sub second timing of needed), “Slow” (up to a second between press and release), and “Slowest” (up to 2 seconds between press and release). I like the “Slow” setting.

NOTE: Slow and Slowest settings do not mean you have to wait a full second or 2 seconds between press and release. It just means you do not need to be super fast.

how do I add that as either the old bottom swipe or as a watch face function complication?

I really do not understand what was gained by this change. why change something so simple, easy, and user friendly?

Quick press and release of the flat oval side button (see picture)

If you have problems with getting the quick press and release timing just right, you can play with

Settings -> Accessibility -> Side Button Click Speed

I like "Slow". My Wife likes "Slowest". This is also helpful when trying to activate Apple Pay via a quick Double Press and release.

I need to be able to ping my iPhone from my Apple Watch. PLEASE bring this feature back NOW!

The previous Control Center swipe-up has moved to a quick press and release of the flat oval side button

Use Control Center on Apple Watch - Apple Support

DO NOT hold the button, as that brings up Emergency services and the power off icon.

Control Center should then show you the iPhone ping icon (find my iPhone), Battery percentage, Flashlight, Water Lock, Airplane mode, Alarm silence, Theater mode, and all the other Control Center services.

An alternate way to get some of the Control Center services is:

“Hey Siri, find my iPhone”

“Hey Siri, Flashlight”

“Hey Siri, Battery”

“Hey Siri, Airplane mode”

Getting the press and release timing just right can be an issue. You can make it more reliable by changing:

Apparently you haven't read all of the posts. Many of them say pressing the side button does not bring up the control center. And many add that it brings up the app switcher, which is also my case. So stop being snarky and come up with a good solution if you have one

I have read far more posts than you can imagine. I’ve been reading posts since 2005.

And I did come up with a solution, and ways to make that solution more reliable, and alternative ways to get the Control Center if the flat oval side button is malfunctioning or the user has arthritis in their hands.

If you are pressing the flat oval side button, and getting the favorites, then you are on watchOS 9 or earlier.

If you are on watchOS 10 and getting the app switcher, then you are pressing the round, sticks out from the case, and rotates Digital Crown.

And others have done the same thing, not even realizing the the object next to the Digital Crown was a button. Some users even thought ti was a SIM card slot. Those that tried to open it to put a SIM in, damaged their Apple Watch. See I do read posts, because that is where I discovered these things.

I just updated my apple watch and I am very upset that I can no longer swipe up to get to the control center. Why would Apple do this? The button is neither convenient nor as quick as swiping up when one is in a hurry to locate their I Phone, the control that I most use.

We will have to agree to disagree. The flat oval side button works while I'm using another app, such an exercise app, or when I'm playing music or podcast, and the now playing app is on the screen. The swipe up always required me to first get back to a watch face, then I could bring up the Control Center.

The Botton method is more robust in more situations.

And if you are in that much of a hurry:

"Hey Siri, find my iPhone"

and you do not have to touch anything.

I have sos turned off in my watch app and when I press said side button under the crown only sos comes up, no control center. It’s maddening

The flat oval side button has always had 3 mode

  • Quick press and release brings up Control Center (was previously Favorites)
  • Double Quick press and release brings up Apple Pay and the Apple Wallet
  • Press and Hold 5-6 seconds brings up Emergency Services, and the power off button.

As Idris says, DO NOT hold the button. Just do a quick press and release to bring up the Control Center. As long as the press is less than 5 seconds, it should work every time.

Double press and release is a bit more tricky. It really does need to be quick. If you wait too long between the 1st and 2nd press, then Control Center will come up. So you have to do the 2 presses rather quickly one right after the other, then you can get to Apple Pay.
