icloud isn’t connecting to notability

so i haven’t used notability since about june and i’ve gone on it again to see my uni notes and the app is refusing to connect to icloud. i went into the settings in my mac and deselected the app on icloud and re selected it but still nothing. i then turned off icloud within the notability app and now i can’t turn it back on again it just says ‘icloud is not available, check your mac settings’ however my settings are the exact same as they have been for the last two years of using the app. anyone have any idea on how i go about fixing this issue
