How to update Safari with an old OS High Sierra?

I have OS High Sierra (10.13.6) and need to update my Safari (13.1.2) since several websites I visit no longer support this version of old Safari. Is it possible to update to a newer Safari on OS High Sierra? How do I do that?

Would updating my OS High Sierra to OS Catalina 10.15 (I understand my Mac of late 2013 can only be updated to OS Catalina 10.15) give me a newer Safari than what I currently have? If yes, how do I update to OS Catalina from my old Mac? Please help!

Mostly you just need a more modern Browser than Safari on Mojave, or High Sierra like Firefox or Brave.

These days, installing a newer version of macOS is the only way to get a newer version of Safari. (When Safari was new, Apple distributed it by itself, for Macs and PCs, but that was a long time ago.)

There are alternate browsers, like an Extended Release Version of Firefox, that will run on High Sierra and that may be a bit more up-to-date than High Sierra's version of Safari.
