Restore Paused

Data Transfer from iCloud to new i-phone 14pro exact message is : "Restoring from iCloud will resume when this iPhone is connected to WIFI....estimate 13.9G will be downloaded to finish restoring your apps and data.

it has been in this state for more than 36 hours. I have rebooted, checked the wifi , there is more than enough data space in my iCloud, paused and un-paused the apps, and my battery is good. I had the set up done at a Verizon store. Do I need to reset and erase the phone and start over to fix this? If so (a silly question) will it erase the e-sim too? I am not really techy so was hoping it would be easy

Hi Bkcntry1,

I understand that you are encountering difficulties while attempting to transfer your data to your new iPhone using iCloud. Allow me to assist you in resolving this issue. Here are some steps you can take to address the problem:

1. Try using a different Wi-Fi network: Using an alternative Wi-Fi network may help resolve the issue. Ensure you have a stable and reliable connection before proceeding.

2. Restart the Data Transfer process: If you continue to encounter problems, try restarting the Data Transfer process. Simply stop it and then start it again to refresh the operation.

3. Factory reset as a last resort: If the issue persists despite trying the previous steps, you may need to consider a factory reset of your device. You can find instructions on how to perform a factory reset here.

Regarding your second question, performing a factory reset should not affect your eSIM.

If you require further assistance or have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

EDIT: This could also be an issue with the backup itself, if the backup still fails you should reach out to Apple Support directly to see what the problem is.
