Photos transfer from android - storage issue

My girl decided to move from android to my old iphone. We used "move to ios" app, everything worked smooth but we have two major problems:

  1. After logging to Google Photos, the last 1 year is missing. (there are all photos when we log on android or website). Any way to "PUSH" download photos from last year? Or we have to send them manually somehow?
  2. All photos (probably the one that were transfered via Move to IOS) started downloading to phone storage gallery. She has iP 11 64GB, photos immediately took entire storage, she keeps having no space alert and because of that some apps can't work properly because still missing resources and photos still try to save on phone storage. We are sharing 1TB icloud space. Can we somehow push save to icloud instead of storage? My photos take like 700mb on phone storage and tens of GB on icloud. Everything goes to icloud automaticaly. But all her photos from android want to save on phone storage which cause all space full and lagging the phone :/

She can turn on optimize photos so that the originals are stored in iCloud but optimized versions downloaded to the device (settings > photos). That will help reduce the size of photos. Keep in mind that she may need to free up space first for the device to optimize. 64GB isn't a lot of space.

As for the missing photos. If they appear at iCloud.com there is no issue, she just may not have any space left on the device. If they do not appear at iCloud.com, then you'll need to move them manually.

Every photo will still remain on the device; there is no transfer off of the device. You can elect to optimize storage (settings > photos) to help reduce the size of the photo library on the device. Your iCloud sync needs free space on the phone in order to function. If the phone is out of space, little will function properly. You'll probably need to free at least 6-10 GB for the sync function to work.

Thanks for the first part, we will try to free some space and change settings.

For the second part - no, they are not in icloud either. When we log into Google Photos on android or website, there are all photos. When we log into Google Photos on iOS, last 1 year is missing. The same on iCloud. Photos from 1 year and older transfered properly. But the last 1 year is missing everywhere here :(

Ok, I found something interesting.

I checked storage on iPhone and it's 64GB full of which 55GB are photos. I was wondering why they are not going to iCloud.

I checked iCloud settings. Photos are "on", but when I click it, there is information that synchronization is stopped due to lack of storage on iphone.

All the more, I logged onto her icloud account on website. When I go to Photos there is nothing and says that I first should enable icloud photos on phone.

I don't get it. Why photos that are still beeing transfered to STORAGE, do not move to iCloud? Settings suggest that photos transfer to icloud is not enabled because there is not enough space on iphone. What does it have to do with one another?? These are different things. Why I can't enable icloud photos when we have 1TB free space there? Yes, we have not enough storage on iphone that's why we want them to transfer to icloud lol. That's absurd.

Hey again.

That's ridiculous what happened. We made backup of all photos and then deleted everything from phone storage - everything.

What happened is its 62/64 GB full of which 10GB takes ios and 50GB takes system data!!!! What is going on with this device? How can system data take all storage and what is system data at all? How to clear it lol. She literally deleted everything from the phone.
