Transferring all data to a new computer

• NO never use Wi-Fi to migrate!!!! The quickest and most efficient method is to connect the old Macs Time Machine to the new Mac. If you have not turned on the new Mac for the first time when you do it will start up Setup Assistant, SA gets to a point where it asks if you are migrating from another Mac, select Yes and follow the on-screen prompts. If you have already setup the new Mac then startup Migration Assistant (applications-utilities-MA) and follow the on-screen prompts. It’s that simple. If you want your migration to fail then use Wi-Fi.

Migration assistant could be your friend, though is's quite some times for transfer data via WiFi.

Time Machine backs up the External Hard Diskby default. If you told it to not back up the External Hard Disk then turn that option off, backup and then migrate.

do you have a Time Machine backup, if so please follow my instructions. If you do not please create one and follow my instructions!!!!!!! Deviate and you will have problems!
