Hi, Ive recently switched over to using icloud photos from Google Photos.
I have 24,553 photos and 1948 videos
This took up 78GB on google photos storgage and after uploading to icloud the same takes up 163GB.
Has anyone run into this issue? iCloud is taking up double the space compared to what google photos was doing.

Well, you can use more icloud storage, if you back up or synced other data to icloud.
This is just for the photo/video portion
Yes, I have observed the same. I recently moved to iCloud and it's taking double size compared to Google photos and Cloud.
What upload settings are you using on Google Photos?
