iPhone 15 USb-C to USB-A for automotive use

As the iPhone 15 uses a USB-C port, what you would need is either a USB-C to USB-A adapter, or a similar cable, to connect your new iPhone to the USB-A port in your car.

Thanks. Don't know about those. But I think as long as they're labeled "data" and/or "quick charge" cables, then they should work. I actually found an Anker 2pk of 6' for $10 suggested on an Apple Carplay topic. They work great. Both connecting to carplay and to my old MacBook pro.

I had same issue. Surprisingly Apple does not offer such a cable. Why, I don’t know. You’d have thought with the release of a new port on the iPhone 15 they’d have thought about that. But don’t lose hope. See my post just above yours. Many usb A to usb C cables will work but not all usb A to usb C cables. Must be “data” or “high speed”. The Ankers work great. 2 pak on Amazon $10. Way cheaper than what Apple would have cost anyway. So maybe it’s a good thing they don’t offer any?

I had the same issue but solved it based on advice in this forum. Got this 2 cable set from Anker (Amazon) for $10.99. Received them next day from prime & they solved the problem & I am back to enjoying Apple Car Play on the 15 ProMax. Hope this helps.

Get a different cord or an adapter. Without more details, it's hard to make specific recommendations.

Nope. That’s not all there is to it. You actually need a specific “data” cable usb-c to usb-a cable. None of my regular old usb-c to usb-a cables work to connect. Either to my car or my usb-a only MacBook Pro (mid 2015 Intel). Maybe a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Super Fast Data Transfer Cable? I’m still looking for one. Apple Store had a generic one that worked (Apple doesn’t sell any) but I wasn't smart enough to write it down 😭

You might be referring to the Boost Charge Pro Flex USB A to USB C. Its the only one listed on the site and upon release of the latest iPhone, has been back ordered or out of stock.

i have the same problem for carplay connectivity. there's only one cable that works and it's the USB A to USB C cable that comes with Iqos Duo 3, there's just slight overheating but it gets the job done.

I bought 3 cables and nothing worked even the adapter then used with apple provided cable.

That depends on what kind of port you have on your car.

My car, which is from 2022, does not have USB-C for my iPhone 15. I cannot use CarPlay in the car. I need Apple to provide a cable that works with my car. I already bought two different adapters but it doesn't work. I don't know if Apple has an original one that is. usb-c to usb-a thanks

Switching to the usb-c makes absolutely zero sense. Cars, homes, laptops , pc’s, airports, power strips/outlets, just about everything uses the regular usb port. This new set up is NOT user friendly. Way to go apple, 2 thumbs down 👎
