Camera Continuity Video Feed

I was using Camera Continuity with my mac and iPhone. As soon as my mac went to sleep the video cut off to show a black screen, but it still has audio. Is there anyway to recover the video footage?

I think that the video was probably not recorded, so no...

For the future, you may want to check that your screen is not set to turn off after a short period.

I did two quick tests, by setting the screen to turn off after just 1 minute, starting a recording and not touching my mac. The screen did NOT turn off while the recording was in progress. I left it running for a few more minutes, and I repeated this test with Photo Booth, and also with Quicktime Player.

I confirmed that when not recording, it did turn off as it was set.

So in my case keeping it recording was enough to prevent the screen from turning off. At least from a timing perspective. There are other ways to turn it off, like a "hot corner". I will test this and report back.

If your mac had really gone to sleep, there would have been no audio. Instead, what I think happened is that the screen was turned off.

As to recovering footage, it depends on what you were doing with it. What application was running? Was it recording?
