There is a clicking sound made when typing. I want to turn it off so I won't be bothered by the clicking sound when I type and so I can listen to other things, like YouTube, without being interrupted.

Check in Accessibility settings and turn off "Use Click key sounds"
You might find it easier to type "Use click key sounds" in System Settings' Search field.
Interesting. How about trying to reboot into safemode then reboot again and then verify that "Use Click key sounds" is still disabled or off and then test again. I don't have a MacBook Air so I can't test but is it possible that setting is also in BIOS settings?

Try "Accessibility> Spoken Content" then turn off "Speak typing feedback"
