Apple Watch Ultra 2 - how to delete waypoints from Compass App?
There's lots of information about ADDING waypoints. Nothing explains how to DELETE them. Anyone know how?

I was having the same issues but have now found out how to do it on the Compass app on the Watch.
In the Compass app on the Watch, tap on the 'i' in the top corner of the main screen, scroll down to Waypoints, tap Waypoints, tap Compass Waypoints then in there you will see all your waypoints. Swipe left to delete each one. Hope this helps.

Hi 7 Up - I also discovered the connection to Apple Maps. If you open Apple Maps on your phone, this is where the “My Places” that appear in the compass app originate. So if you’ve ever dropped pins on your Apple Map or added places in the past, these will appear in your Compass App on the watch. Those are only manageable from the phone.
If you add waypoints to the compass from your watch, those are editable on the watch in the usual logical intuitive way. Hope this helps.
I just did some more digging, and I found a list that matches the waypoint list in the Apple Maps app on my watch, but again, I cannot delete them. I cannot find any corresponding list on my phone.
The information provided as an answer isn’t helpful. I have an Apple Watch Series 7 and after updating to watchOS 10, I am unable to delete waypoints. It’s extremely frustrating cause now my compass app has a ton of dots. (No, I don’t want to toggle the option to turn off “My Places”. I want to be able to delete waypoints when I’m done with them.)
Here are some screenshots to show there is no option to delete waypoints. If I am incorrect, please give instructions on how to delete them that is based on the current watchOS version and not from an outdated help article. Thanks. 🙂👍🏻
To delete waypoints: open "Maps" on your iPhone, then open "My Places", you will see the complete list of "places", these are the waypoints on your watch. You can then swipe to the left to delete each waypoint.
Hello HKLofu,
This page can help out with viewing and managing compass waypoints on the Apple Watch Ultra: View and add compass waypoints on Apple Watch Ultra - Apple Support
On there it'll help to note where to locate the pencil icon to edit:
1. To view a Compass Waypoint, tap a waypoint on any of the three Compass screens, turn the Digital Crown to select a waypoint, then tap Select.
The distance, direction, and relative elevation of the waypoint appear on the screen—“4.3 miles to left, down 415 feet,” for example.
2. Tap to edit information about a selected waypoint and to show the waypoint on a map, along with its coordinates.
Cheers.
Yeah, I gave up a while ago. Until Apple releases a better system I'm just living with the problem.
Watch, the only solution will be to wipe your iPhone and Apple Watch and start from scratch. 😆 I'm sorry, but that's not a solution. 🙂 I hope Apple implements an improved waypoint system in the future. In its present state, it's easily gets cluttered with a very limited way to de-clutter.
That didn’t help… sadly…
I’m about to give up. I’ve read others that can’t get rid of them on the watch.
I appreciate the help.
Try this:
Head over to Settings > your name > iCloud. Then turn off the toggle next to Maps. Now wait for a few minutes and re-enable the toggle. Now launch the Apple Maps app and check if your guides are back or not.
I came to this issue, and I'm just find that I need to check my macbook pro too. The waypoint is on the macOS Maps itself at My Place. I deleted in that category, restart the Maps several time to make sure the waypoint deleted. Then restart the Compass on Watch and check if it stills there. Could take some time for the sync to work.
You have to delete them from the Maps app on your iPhone. They waypoints are listed under My Places.
There is no " My Places" on my iphone in maps.
You’ll find it under a section called My Guides in Maps. If it’s not there, you probably didn’t save any locations. Confirm you’re running the latest iOS.
Its not on the phone, but it is showing up on my Apple Watch Ultra 2.
I have the latest os on both.
This works! Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
