Messenger - missing "media" tab in iOS 16.x / 17

I have a problem regarding missing "Media" tab in Facebook's Messenger - it appears only once, just after Messenger "fresh" installation. After closing and re-opening Messenger, it disappears for all the contacts; only "Files" tab is present".

No one of my friends has ever been experiencing this problem, so I reckon there's a problem either with some iOS settings on my side, or maybe by Facebook settings for iOS, as the problem doesn't exist for my devices that run on Windows or Android.

I've tried to contact Meta on multiple occassions, with no reply from their end. Also, I've searched multiple forums in the Internet, to no avail - no one experiencing this problem was able to resolve it.

That's why I'd like to ask if any of you has experienced this problem before, and - if yes - then what helped resolve it.

We'd like to provide you with a few steps that may be able to correct the issue that you're having with Facebook Messenger:

1. "Close and reopen the app

Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

2. Restart your device

Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

3. Check for updates

To see if updates are available for the app, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll down to see if updates are available. If updates aren't available for the app, update the software on your iPhone or iPad.

4. Delete the app, then redownload it

Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed."
