Unable to add funds to a Suica or PASMO card in Apple Wallet

Just to add a little extra info to this topic, I have been able to add Pasmo (and Suica) using my Apple Card (Mastercard) connected to my wallet from day one. All worked including topping off on previous trips as well as my current one. That is until yesterday. It just stopped working. Never had an issue so I’m puzzled. I do have 10 pending charges on my Apple Card so I’m wondering if the security kicked in. I guess I’ll wait and try after some charges clear. But then again, I was just able to top off my Suica using the same card. Conveniently inconvenient!

Please remember that many of the issues are caused by the merchants and the banking regulations of the country you’re in.

it is not possible to add funds to a Suica between 2 am and 4am Japanese time …

You may just have to wait until you get to Japan. Everything seems to work fine there.

Hi I have been having the same problems with Australian issued cards. My Mastercard worked initially but then keeps failing. Visa cards refusing on both initial set-up and then on top up. This is in Feb 2024. Any ideas???

So I seem to be having the same issue as most in this thread and I can not for the life of me figure out what to try next...

I transferred my old Suica card to my iPhone and it still had ￥527 on it and I wanted to top it off before I leave for Japan in a few weeks and no matter what card I use in my wallet I cannot get it to approve and add funds. So far I have tried:

Apple CC (MC)

Chase United Explorer CC (MC)

Chase United Explorer CC (VISA)

Chase Debit Card (VISA)

Apple Cash

I even tried to use one of my wife's CC's which was also a MC and that did not work either.

These are all the cards I own, so I am not sure what else to try to get funds added to this card. Anyone ever figure out a sure fire way to get money on the card via Apple Wallet?

In mid of March 2024 my Austrian issued Mastercard worked. Today it started to fail.

There are multiple reports/comments in the community that the hours I stated are all that works.
