iMessage indexing issue on iPhone 15 pro max / iOS 17.

Just upgraded to a 15 pro max. Did a direct iPhone to iPhone restore. iMessage is not indexing correctly. Can’t search old messages. Photos and links in iMessage conversations under the info tab do not appear, although when I scroll through the convo they are clearly there. I tried iMessage backup with iCloud, still no fix. Tried toggling iMessage on and off and “show content in search” but no help. Previous iOS’s/iPhones had issues with indexing but it progressed slowly. Seems it may be an  iOS 17 bug that I am hoping Apple will send an update to fix. Considering downgrading back to my old phone if I can’t get it to index properly because I need to search older messages and photos often. Any known solutions?
