You didn’t delete the Wallet app, because it cannot be deleted. You may have removed it from the Home screen, but it is still in the App Library (the last page of the Home screen). Go to the App Library, find the Wallet app, and drag it to where you want it.

Mine is gone from my phone and my iPad. I search for it as instructed, nothing. I use every search keyword possibility I can think of and get a long list of everything but the Apple Wallet. I have it on my Apple Watch, but no other apple devices. I have an Apple Pay card and it is a pain in the *** to sign in and circle the 7 layers of **** just to get in to pay the bill. I guess I will hit up the Genius Bar this weekend, along with half of Tampa, to get this resolved. Everyone in here is so adamant that you can’t remove it, but mine is gone. I’m also an IT Specialist with a degree in computer science and engineering and a certified software asset manager. I know enough to be dangerous, but apparently not enough to find a freaking base install app.

Maybe I'm confused: from the link you provided it says "Built-in apps that you can delete from iPhone or iPad" Wallet seems to be on the list. Then it says: "Restore a built-in app that you deleted

  1. On your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, go to the App Store
  2. Search for the app. Make sure that you use the exact name of the app.
  3. Tap the Redownload button .
  4. Wait for the app to restore, then open it from your Home Screen."

Wallet isn't in my App Library; I'm quite sure I deleted it. (I thought I had read that as of iOS 16.1 Apple had made it possible to delete Wallet in response to potential or actual suits being brought because they didn't allow other Wallet-like apps to be installed.) When I search the App Store for "Wallet" or "Apple Wallet" It doesn't seem to be there.

Can you help?

Thanks.

Why does apple pay not show up in library,

Because apple pay is not an app. The Wallet app is in the iPhone app store if you accidentally deleted it.

App store for IPad shows in settings only but work fine and show up on iPhone?

That sentence makes absolutely no sense. What are you trying to say? There is an app store for iPad that has iPad and iPad/iPhone shared apps.

Cannot add it to home screen on Ipad OS 17.7 btw.. works perfectly on phone and shows on App store and library there. Cannot make this up, beyond stupid.

However, there is no Wallet app for iPad because iPad does not support the wallet app (guessing what your question is). And what is beyond stupid? The fact that iPad hardware does not support NFC, which is required for Wallet to work?
