I can open a .wav file but it doesn't import.

Hi,

I'm trying to import .wav files into Music app on my MacBook Pro (Apple M1 Pro running Ventura 13.6) with no success.

  • I have tried importing from File > Import, nothing happens
  • I have tried playing the file by right clicking on it and opening with Music - which works in that it plays the song, but it does not import it.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: I have imported .wav files without issue as recently as 2 days ago, these files came direct from the artist (Peter Gabriel fan club), I even moved them off the thumb drive and onto the computer first.

If it played in that fashion, it likely imported into your library. Note that Music cannot read tags in WAV files, so it probably adopted the file name as the title, and Unknown as the artist.
