What does the yellow warning triangle on Project icon in the Finder indicate? How do I figure out what the issue is?

In the Finder or in the FCP browser? In the FCP browser, a warning icon on an event usually means there's footage missing.
If this isn't what you're asking, please post a screenshot of what you're seeing.
