Ghost App “KEYBOARD DATA” (Chinese &Japanese) it was on my IPhone 4 and every model since. If it is part of a necessary file, what is it doing here. ?

It appears in my back up for iCloud. Turning it off should dump the data when I sign out… but not this sticky little widget. It’s back and keeps coming back. It doesn’t seem to use any bits of data!

I have read other reports on this keyboard data is a necessary Code. So they can distribute the same product worldwide …but my question is why don’t they have Romanian or Bulgarian, why just Chinese and Japanese!

I’m really surprised someone hasn’t yelled ethnical discrimination.

iPhone 14, iOS 17

Chinese and Japanese use ideograms to represent words instead of strings of letters like most other languages. As a result, the system used to input them with a keyboard is different, and essentially uses a database to translate the letters you type into individual Han characters, of which there could be several different ones depending on the context. That's the kind of data which is involved in what you are seeing.
