Why doesn't FCP warn me when I import an HDR clip into an SDR project? And why does the clip look fine without any effects?

According to my experience and knowledge, if I set a FCP project as SDR (default), and try to drag in an HDR clip, then a window would pop up, saying "you're adding an HDR clip into SDR timeline" or something. If I insist, then the clip would look extremely bright. I would have to manually add a "HDR Tools" effect onto the clip to make it look normal again.

However, today, when I try to import an HDR clip into an SDR project, there are no warnings, and the clip looks perfectly fine.

The FCP version is 10.6.9, and the mac version is 14.0 (23A344).

As shown here, the color space of the library is "Standard Gamut SDR".

And I created a project with Color Space as "Standard - Rec. 709".

And I added a video clip into the project. As it is shown on the right, the clip is "Rec. 2020 HLG". But there are no warnings, and the clip looks perfect.

Why is this happening?

Thank you very much for your help!
