I wonder whether if I enable the 80% charge limit the battery is just resting with no power drawn from the battery once the 80% charge is reached? So this would mean if I kept the phone plugged in all the time, the battery would have basically 0 cycles for the rest of it's life (with the exception of minimal self discharge)?

It will draw power the from the Battery, I believe.
When you choose 80% Limit, your iPhone will charge up to about 80 percent and then stop charging. If the battery charge level gets down to 75 percent, charging will resume until your battery charge level reaches about 80 percent again.

Thanks. Yeah I’ve seen this paragraph in the article. I just wonder whether let’s say charging stops once it reaches 80% however the phone’s power consumption is still supplied via mains power and charging starts again once the phone has reached 75% through battery self discharge alone.
Is iPhone 15 Pro powered by mains power once the battery is charged to 80% limit?
