I have just updated two Apple watches to 10.0.1 and all of my watch faces except one have disappeared. They look to be still on my iPhone but I have not found an easy way to get them back on the watches. Does anyone know if this was intended by Apple because I think I have updated the software before without losing any of the faces. Is there a simple 'bluetooth' fix to this ?

I found the fix for the new update. You have to go through the WATCH SETTINGS in the watch specifically.
You have to open Settings on the Watch itself, scroll down to Clock, and turn on "Swipe to Switch Watch Face."

Very upsetting. It has disturbed the way I use the watch, deleted some of my complications and I can’t seem to add them back. Swapping to the other faces is a total sham. They need to revert back to the other OS.
I woke up this morning and this watch face that I have used for years was gone, replaced by the Siri face. Why would they get rid of the one face you could use with more than 2-3 complications?! Now I set it to Modular Compact which only allows for 3 complications, so I had to give up date, messages, and Apple TV remote. I hate it!!!!!!!
Hold your finger down on the current watch face. It will then display all your faces so you can scroll through them and tap the one you want. It’s more of a hassle than before the upgrade but at least you still have them!
Unfortunately after upgrading to the 10.1.1 I have lost all previous saved watch faces. The hold watch face fix has not brought back my pre update faces. Also the there is a very limited range of Modular ones that I prefer. Can anyone shed some light on this issue?
Since the September 2023 update 17.0.2 update my 4 watch faces that I used are not showing on the watch, but appear in the watch App. I think this is a bug. I’m very annoyed as I used these watch faces for travel. Does anyone have suggestions. I’ve already rebooted watch and phone??
All you need do is put your finger on the watch face and hold it there. The watch face will shrink and then you swipe the faces L or R until the face you want appears. When it does, tap the face and Bingo!!
they changed how you switch between the faces
you have to tab and hold and go to edit more and there you can swipe left and right to the faces, it seemed to have upset a lot of users judging by the posts here.

WatchOS 10.2 is out and the swipe to change the watch face is now an option to toggle on and off.
Go to Settings>Clock.
Press and hold your watch face in the middle. It will shrink. Once that happens scroll sideways; your selection of watch faces is there. When you scroll to the one you want, tap it. If this does not work, you will need to visit an Apple store. Good luck.

Apple…think of user convenience.
Quickly swiping left or right allows users over 20 complications easier to access with larger surfaces to touch or if you have larger fingers rather than scrolling through the apps menu.
Travel face for other time zones, sunsets, temperatures, etc.
Another face for quick access to loved ones walkie-talkie, messages.
Main face with schedule, timer, activity.
Only the Ultra allows for more complications and not all of us can afford another watch.
Please revert back to allowing us to swipe between faces. I find it a bit dangerous riding my bicycle on a workout and trying to hold the face down instead of quickly swiping left to access walkie-talkie after I tap the Digital Crown.
At least we can customize the Digital Crown scroll up to access more complications.
