Hi _fanstelan_,

You may want to reach out to Apple directly for specific as to why, however it's likely a hardware limitation. As the details are outlined in the article previously shared, feel free to leave feedback for Apple directly here: Product Feedback - Apple

You can also view hardware details for the iPhone 15 here: iPhone 15 Pro Max - Technical Specifications which mentions Smart HDR 5, and the technical specifications for the iPhone 14 here: iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus - Technical Specifications - Apple which mentions Smart HDR 4.

Best.

Hey there _fanstelan_,

Thanks so much for using Apple Support Communities.

It looks like Smart HDR 5 is a part of the camera system specifically for iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models. While it doesn't look like iPhone 14 will include that feature, we would recommend bookmarking the Apple Newsroom page for any future updates. You can find that here: Newsroom - Apple

For any other questions about using HDR camera settings on your iPhone, we would recommend checking out this article: Adjust HDR camera settings on iPhone - Apple Support

Thank you for being a part of the community here. We hope this information helps!

Best wishes.

Hi Nathan, thank you for your reply. What would be a particular reason why iphone 14 pro max is not getting HDR5? Given the fact that regular Apple 15 has the same chipset and as a non pro model, it actually has bettee HDR processing? Which is quite a questionable decision if you ask us, the users of 14 pro max. :) I won’t be getting 15 for sure, but I think 14 still deserves some love :) Thanks in advance
