"Modifications aren't in sync" message after update to Sonoma

I just upgraded to Sonoma 14.0. I have been working in Pages since the upgrade, and I'm encountering the following problem. When I try to work with tables in Pages, the files won't synchronize with iCloud; I get a "Modifications aren't in sync" message, and I have to check between two versions of the file and indicate which one I want to keep. This problem keeps happening over and over (every couple minutes) as long as I'm modifying a table. As soon as I leave the table and start editing or adding normal text (text not in a table) within in the same file, the problem stops happening; the file synchs normally when I'm editing normal text.

This happens irrespective of whether or not I save the file via Cmd-S.

So synching is only a problem with tables in Pages. Writing normal text in normal paragraph format in Pages (such as this message) isn't a problem; with normal text, the file synchs normally.

I have a 2018 Mac Mini.
