Hi,
I found this thread already discussing an issue I am having.
I have a new M2 Pro Mac Mini. I am setting it up and it is fresh out of the box. One of the things I am doing is changing to a custom Background.
Background changed. Looks Good.
Restart - Background goes back to default.
I have tried just about everything that has been suggested here including creating a new desktop and deleting the old one etc.
What I have found is if I log out, so Apple - Log Out "User Name". and then log in, the background I saved before restart comes back.
On Restart The lock screen is always the Background I chose. After log in it changes to the default.
When I restart and gop to System Settings - Background the selected background is showing as the chosen background in System Settings, but it will not let me select it. The default is displaying on the Desktop, but I cannot select the one I want, IE the one that was selected before restarting.
If I select the drop down for fit to screen and change to any of the options, I am able to select the background I want.
Restart and then the default comes back.
Log Out and then Log back in and then the Background I want comes back straight away.
No Software installed just trying to change the background to an image on my USB Stick, which is now stored on the computer.
Am I missing something or is there a bug?
