iPhone 15 Pro Carplay disconnects

my new iPhone 15 pro is constantly disconnecting on apple carplay. Tried multiple usb c leads and holders and still happens. Didn’t happen with iPhone 14 pro lightning, android auto usb c. And my wife’s iPhone 15 doesn’t disconnect. Is this an isolated iPhone 15 pro issue that needs to be replaced or is this a serious iPhone 15 pro fault?

Yeah I have the same issue with tme 13 Pro. I've tried 5+ different USB-A to USB-C cables. If I look at the cable funny...wiggle it...or pick up my phone from my phone mount it immediately disconnects. Never had this issue with the 12 pro this 15 pro replaced. I feel there is some inconsistency with USB-C retention. There is too much play and the slightest movement breaks the connection to carplay.

Which cables did you order? If i could post video here I could show how sensitive any USB-c cable is with Apple Carplay.

If I hit something in the road like a crease or a driveway transition that sends a small shock through the car...it loses connection.

Yes Lightning 'held' better and didnt lose connection with apple carplay but the other benefits of USB-c still make it a welcome addition to the iphone. The transfer speeds alone are worth it but also the fact that it's saving me clutter and the ability to use the same usb-c cable for 99% of my electronics is awesome.

I haven't tried the official braided USB-C that came with the phone since my carplay uses Usb-A...but maybe i'll try a USB-A to C adapter and see if the apple braided cable is worthwhile.

This is still a continued problem. I drove a rental the same day as I got my iPhone and had no issues. When returned home to my car still cannot connect. Cord will charge my phone but doesn’t connect to CarPlay. I’m in a hands free state and this was a huge problem when using navigation as I was constantly trying to look at my CarPlay screen (as I’ve grown accustomed to) and it has nothing there but radio. Kept trying different cords to no avail. Just messing with the cords was a distraction on the road. Hope there is a resolution soon as I do a good bit of distance driving and really love my CarPlay. Ordered multiple cords and connectors hoping one will work until something else is supported by an Apple fix. Hurry Apple before someone drives their car under a semi while trying to get their CarPlay to work properly.

I ended up finding my Samsung USB-C from the before iphone time. And it actually keeps CarPlay connected. Just went for a 45 minute drive....bumps...dips....funny looks....picking phone off mount to do something....stayed connected.

Looked up my amazon history and it was this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071G2XT6M. YMMV but I'll be ordering another.

Pretty annoying that something that SHOULD have some standards and consistencies like a cable/connector...can cause such grief.

I use a 15 Plus and CarPlay worked for me no problem for a month. But today (about 2 hours ago) I updated to iOS 17.1.1 and all my USB-C cables stopped working. CarPlay keeps disconnecting every 3 seconds and the only cable that charges my phone is the original one that came in the iPhone package. I know for a fact that all of these cables work because I used them for a month with this exact phone. I am so disappointed honestly, I hope they fix it.

This is a serious issue that Apple needs to address. I have a 2023 GMC Sierra 2500 and a 2020 RAM 1500 and 90% of the time I plug in my phone and it goes to charge, if anything at all but, not Apple Car Play, then while driving it goes to a black screen on the head unit and I have to unplug the reinsert the plug. I've been using the OEM cable and I have also ordered several higher-end cables to test out to see if the cable is the issue and still, nothing.
