Need Help in Getting to Airplay

I cannot turn on the airplay on my 2012 macbook pro. i have gone to the displays but it does not allow me to turn on airplay

Airplay display with M1 MacBook Air HI, My 2012 iMac has Airplay much to my surprise as it is running Yosemite. On trying this out, it will easily find and connect to my 2020 MacBook Air. I accept the connection on the air and it opens a full screen window. Unfortunately this is as far as it goes as the window stays black no matter what the settings are on the iMac. Just wondered if anyone knew what was happening and if there is a solution. Thanks

MacBook Pro 2023 not screen sharing/airplay or displaying onto my iMac I have a 2023 Macbook Pro 16" and I am trying to use my Late 2013 Imac as a monitor/external display. I can use airplay on the imac and screen mirror to my macbook pro but I am trying to get it the other way around. I want to use my macbook pro to display on my iMac so I won't have to buy a monitor. I purchased every cord possible. HDMI to Minidisplay port, Hdmi to usb, Hdmi to usb c adapter connected to hdmi then usb connected to thunderbolt 4. nothing is working. I've tried every YouTube video. Nothing shows up on my MacBook Pro that any wires have been attached, its not reading anything. To make sure the ports were working I attached the hdmi from my Samsung tv into my MacBook Pro and it worked perfectly. What am I doing wrong, there videos showing it can be done but also told by apple that the feature isn't there but there's many work arounds on YouTube and people are actually using it. any advice would help.

Mac Mini/iMac 27* (2019) Airplay Hi, I’ve read several threads about using a more recent iMac 27” 2019 as a display for a Mac Mini and how it cannot be done as Target Display is not enabled on later iMacs. However why can’t airplay be used AFTER the Mini Mc has been set up on another monitor and airplay enabled or am I missing something? Is this possible? If it is do I assume that I wont have to power on/log on the Mini Mac using another monitor everytime to allow the airplay? I don't play games, but is there significant lag? Apologies if an answer has already been given but I’ve only seen one question about using Airplay to display a Mac Mini on an Imac, which was not answered correctly (the answer morphed to about Target Display so missed the point), most are about Target Display which i know doesnt apply to my iMac Thanks for any enlightenment

Which version of macOS is currently installed on your MacBook Pro? Are you currently connected to Wi-Fi?

Keep in mind, "If your Mac is enrolled in a mobile device management (MDM) system, the AirPlay Receiver option may be unavailable." Set up your Mac to be an AirPlay receiver - Apple Support
