Sonoma 14.0 update internet problems

I have a MacBook Air and last night I did the Sonoma 14.0 update. Once it finished, my MacBook no longer gets the internet. It connects to Wi-Fi, but there’s no internet. I know it isn’t my router since we have other devices connected to it. I tried resetting the router anyway, which didn’t work. I tried rebooting the computer, “forgetting” the Wi-Fi and reconnecting, I changed the DNS IP address to 8.8.8.8, I renewed the DHCP lease, I checked the date and time settings. Nothing is working. I tried connecting to a different Wi-Fi and am having the same issues. It won’t let me use the internet off my hotspot either. Please help.

I spoke with support for 2 hours and we finally figured out it was my antivirus software (something my company installed) preventing it. After uninstalling it, the problem was fixed.

I had your same issue. I use my Mac for personal as well as my work Remote Desktop. The issue I found was this: if you go into Settings>Network I had my network connections (internet and Wi-Fi) then below those it had one that said “Filters” and clicking on that it showed my VPN connections that you could enable or not. I uninstalled my vpn and I still had the issue. I then went back and uninstalled the vpn connections in the network filters area (they were still there even though we uninstalled the vpn client)then reinstalled my vpn. Everything worked fine after that.
