Any idea where you can see your weekly step totally in OS 10?
Updated my watch and now I can’t see my weekly total steps - just weekly total calories burnt
Apple Watch SE, watchOS 10

As part of my weekly training programme , I am required to complete a minimum 10000 steps a weeks and report them to my coach, where as on the previous iwatch OS I was able to see my previous week's steps. I now can't and the only way is going into the App on my phone and adding each day
This is a major inconvenience and feel it is an ill thought out decision made by Apple. There are MANY trining programmes that require doing a set number of steps and now we cannot see them. This needs addressing in the next release so that when scrolling through the weekly metrics, it includes steps. This is very disappointing.

The idea that I can no longer track my weekly number of steps bothers me. Apple, please fix this.
You can certainly still track your weekly steps. You will just need to get an app that does that. It's been pretty clear from the beginning of the Apple Watch that Apple has little interest in steps as a health metric.
Apple does not read here for feedback or suggestions. You can let them know your thoughts here:

Apple please bring this back. It’s the primary reason I have the watch
Apple doesn't read here in this user-to-user technical support forum for feedback or suggestions. You can let them know your thoughts here:
Meanwhile, you can download one of the dozens, possibly hundreds, of apps that will let you do what you want. Or try something like a Fitbit. They are more step-focused.

This new update is the worst, tempted to mail my watch back to Apple, my motivation is tracking my weekly steps, distance and calories to push myself harder the following week

That’s really odd, I can’t see a September challenge on the fitness app on my phone either, it only goes up to August.
I don't see my September challenge but that's because I was a complete sloth this month. I had to complete a certain number of miles per day for a certain number of days. Once it became apparent, based on the math, that it was no longer possible for me to achieve the goal (there were not enough days left in the month), the challenge disappeared. It was a bit humiliating, actually.

Can’t find my total steps for the week on my Apple Watch after 10.0.1 software update?
That is correct. It was removed. You will need to use a third-party app to see your weekly step total.

Why would any runner want to track number of miles walked/run over the course of the week?
Why wouldn't they? My experience in training for marathons and half-marathons is that most runners are data geeks. We keep track of number of miles, pace, heartrate, weather, miles we put on shoes.
I never remember that as an option in Health or Fitness/Activity. The reason I'm pretty sure about this is because I've answered questions about it before. Health will show you daily averages under the Week/Month/Year tabs.
If you want to track running, I would recommend using software dedicated to that rather than to general fitness metrics. I was always a big fan of Runkeeper.
The update to 10.0 did away with it. Why I have no idea, they left total calories that I don't care about I just care about my total running miles. The new update that I ran this morning for 10.1 didn't bring it back.
Why do we have to download another app? That is not a customer friendly response. I think my next watch will not be Apple and if I switch my watch I can start to switch my other products too. I can purchase from a company that listens to what customers want.

You have to download another app because, at the movement, that's the only way to get the data you want. If you don't want to download another app, fine but then accept that you won't see your weekly steps.

I don't care what watch, computer, or phone you buy. I would only suggest you buy the one that best meets your needs.
It’s horrible. It’s also cut my battery life in half as I have always listened to Spotify during my walking and running. I used to be able to go an hour and 40 min and still have power. Now it dies completely within an hour and I lose any steps after that.
I posted in the product feedback forum. Hopefully if enough of us do, maybe they can fix

It's awful this update (10.1.1) - weekly summary totally diluted - no steps, no weekly distance and no stairs climbed which I personally quite liked
And yes Idris I have told them!
Then all you can do now is find an alternative until Apple decides to make a change.
Good info thanks! I downloaded the steps app. It imported all info from the Apple Watch. Very pleased with it so far. The rapid drain of the battery on this new iOS is the biggest issue I have now. Hopefully they can fix
