The fix is in your account page. On all phones that have the family sharing you need to do the change. Click on the name/pic at the top of settings for your account info. Then click family sharing. You will need to view and accept new terms and then you can update the sharing. But you do need to do it on each device, it can’t be done remotely. I just had success on this myself!

I concurr, 17.3 does not fix the problem with older iOS's I also upgraded iPhone8+ to iOS 16.7.5 and problem persists between on iOS 17.3 phone NOT tracking iOS 16.7.5 phone. But iPhone 16.7.5 can see my iPhone15 pro. With FindMe device's both initially work correctly, but from iOS 17.3 updates either dont work or take forever (real time tracking updates don't work). It's been this was since September when iOS 17 was released. I've removed and re-installed FindMe on both phones - and Still No Location Found showing on my IPhone 15 pro for the iPhone8+, but iPhone 8+ sees my iPhone 15 fine.

THIS IS GETTING OLD!

I just got off the phone with an incredibly useless customer service advisor. My iPad is on iOS 16 and its FindMy app gives me a last seen location of my stolen device with updates every hour or so (iPhone 15 Pro Max, 2 days ago it was pickpocketed). But on the iCloud website and on my other phone (iOS 17) it shows no location found.

The advisor said the iOS 16 is giving me false location and that I need to update my iPad to iOS 17 so that it can show no location found which is the true information. I do not get how that is the case since my iPad with iOS 16 still gives me the correct location for every other device and items.

Am I missing a point? Neither any iOS 16 or iOS 17 updates were to fix a false location bugs?

I have a feeling that this is an issue introduced by iOS 17 to some devices and Apple will need to fix it with the next update. So, if you have your phone I would go to an Apple store and replace it with a device that works properly. Also get an insurance.

*Also, John, the advisor said that he is the most senior advisor and I can not get any other help that is more senior to him. I am not sure how to accept this quality from Apple.

During a Google search, I found an article in PC Magazine that explains the "enhancements" to Find My in IOS 17. The article covers all the new ways the Find My can be used in IOS 17. It looks like Apple may have changed the way Find My works to improve privacy. IOS 17 allows you to send texts to request some one to share their location or for you to share yours. I could see how the way IOS 17 works and IOS 15 and 16 work could be at odds with each other. Here is the link to the article: https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/how-to-track-live-location-check-in-family-friends-iphone-apple#

I have not been able to try any of the methods in the article yet because I only have one device that has been upgraded to IOS 17. I will try it tomorrow with a friend who has upgraded.

Same issue with me - 17.2 screwed up the “live” functionality to watch that person’s icon travel realtime. Now, it updates sometimes but doesn’t “real time” track a person. Sometimes it doesn’t update at all .. 20mins or more. My iPad is 17.1 and it works like it should. Neither my wife or daughter are 17.2 either. Good god, the one time I blatantly “trust” and they screw up one of the biggest reasons I am with Apple still … 🤬🤬🤬

Here in the Netherlands it works again. I bet this is an iCloud issue where they deploy fixes on a region basis. I bet this hasn’t anything to do with our iOS version. Maybe if you mix in old apple devices which doesn’t support new iCloud options, but here an onder iPhone 7 works fine with find my. So if you add your region we can demand an update of iCloud in your region to fix this. It is really a shameful bug for apple not to fix this!

Just FYI, iOS 17.3 has NOT fixed the live find my issue….one person shows live and it actually works, one person shows live but it’s not actually live tracking and my wife just shows “now” and no live at all. The one thing I did notice is that you no longer have to manually exit for everyone’s location to show. It’s just not actually live except for the one person on my list out of the three.

They definitely know about it and started solving the usual way. Say nothing and pretend everything is fine. I have searched the net. Nothing helped, and usually find the same things all over the pages, which are simply useless. Searched youtube. No success just the usual random Indian guy going through the same useless steps. Even the great Apple fans are silent. Like this problem is non existent. To be hones NONE of my friends using the latest updates are able to use this feature.

It has been a problem for a while, and nothing happens. If it is deprecated, just say it! If it is a bug, admit it and give us some details, so we could know if you actually want to fix it or not. Either is better than just being silent.
