IPhone 15 Pro Max keyboard not registering clicks and some keys are not sensitive

Anyone experiencing insensitive keys on the keyboard? Some keys near the edge of my phone that are noticeably less sensitive and irresponsive than the rest (with and without a screen protector). I have to click pretty hard multiple times in order for the keys to register. The keys that are having issues registering my clicks are Backspace and "P". I tested the demo phones in the store and they all seem normal and much more sensitive.

Mine is the exact same. Everyone has been thinking I’m losing the plot but I have to close the app im typing on to make it work.

I’ve updated to the latest software and reset everything and started fresh.

nothing has worked and now wondering if I should ask for a different model as this is not worth it. The over heating also is driving me mad.

I just purchased the 15 Pro Max two days ago, and am noticing the same thing. It’s hard to click on things too close to the edge of the screen, but other keys seem almost too sensitive and I’m constantly accidentally closing out of or minimizing things, adding spaces I didn’t click for, or am just generally having issues where the keys seem to have a mind of their own.

Hey all, I’m noticing this issue as well. Something sticky and laggy and unresponsive with certain keys. I just got my 15PM last night and it’s been less than 24 hours. But noticed it immediately. It’s rather odd. It feels like my dictionary is working overtime because half the words I type are incomplete.

Is there any fix for this at all?

Much appreciated.

I may have accidentally stumbled on a fix. Not sure because now I’m looking for lag even if there isn’t any.

but in my dictionary settings, I had both UK and US thesaurus and dictionaries turned on. I unchecked one and left just one active and that seems to have sped things up. At least my backspace and general touch response seems to be better. I don’t know if this is a “fix” fix but it seems to have made mine a little better.

Would love to know if there’s a foolproof fix though. Lag kills me.

I don’t know if this is a fix, but I was trying everything out of desperation and found one that seems to have worked for me. Check your dictionary settings and see how many languages you have turned on. I had both UK thesaurus and dictionary, as well as the US thesaurus and dictionary. I unchecked a couple and kept just the one variant of each and that seems to have worked for me. I don’t have any other devices with the same issue around me to double check. But I don’t know. May be worth a try. Haven’t found anything else that’s a guaranteed solution.

As I have stated on another post discussing this same issue, sadly, I'm one of those who were affected by this bug/?hardware issue. Got a new blue iPhone 15PM a couple of days ago which was shortly updated to iOS 17.1.1.

In my case, the affected area appears to be the bottom right part of the screen overlaying the N, M, and backspace buttons on the keyboard. Upon attempting to type, tapping these buttons does not seem to register properly, leading to frequent typos. This happens fairly frequently with the screen being responsive in between the instances this occurs.

I do not have a screen protector installed. Thinking this could be due to a bug in the keyboard software, I have tried switching between different keyboards including the native iOS keyboard, SwitchKey and Gboard with the issue being present regardless of which keyboard is being used. Restarting the phone does nothing.

Hoping this gets acknowledged and addressed soon. I'm considering returning the device and getting a replacement as a hardware issue hasn't been conclusively ruled out.
