Display Unexpectedly Turning Off When Locking in macOS Sonoma

Ever since upgrading to macOS Sonoma, I have noticed that my display immediately (and unexpectedly) turns off. Perhaps this happened before and I am only now noticing because of the stunning animated wallpapers...? Regardless, this behavior conflicts with my designated System Settings>Lock Screen configurations:

My MacBook is always connected to a power adapter when I use it. I expect that the display should stay on for 30 minutes per System Settings.

Is this something new with Sonoma? More importantly, how do I disable this behavior? I want the screen to stay on until it is configured to turn off per System Settings... Thanks!

Hey leroydouglas! Thanks for the suggestion. I shut down my MacBook when it's not in use as I primarily work on it in the evenings. As such, it's been shut down regularly, and intentionally restarted a few times for other issues. I have tweaked the "Turn display off" options but the screen still turns off regardless of the configuration... :/

Definitely shut down and restart more than once since upgrading...

if no change— then make changes in those settings and compare your results. You can alwyas come back to your preferred setting— see if it responds.
