Wife's Voicemal coming to my phone and vice versa

Since updating to IOS 17 I have been receiving my wife's voicemails and she has been receiving mine, also seeing each other's call history, but that part is no big deal. Before the update, this did not occur. Yes, we share the same ID, but why would it start all of a sudden? Are there some new settings with the update that need to be adjusted? If setting up separate accounts is needed please educate me on this process and how I can do it without losing some apps on one phone that are paid for

Windows, Windows 10

Apple has apparently changed their thinking about how they think things should work.

Each person should have their own Apple ID. Unfortunately, this makes things difficult for folks that have been sharing the same Apple ID on two or more devices. Each app is tied to the Apple ID, so if you decide to set up another Apple ID on your wife's phone, you will have to manually download, install and pay for any apps that are not free.

Family plan works for something’s but we need to share contacts and calendar in real time. FP does not work there.
Apple, please reconsider these changes. Two users with one Apple ID has worked great since iCloud started. Why go away from that now.

You aren't speaking with anyone from Apple on this user to user only forum.
