Issues with FaceTime IOS 17 and my TV

So I open the FaceTime app on my Apple TV and go through the setup procedure. However, it is not showing me in preview mode on the tv screen before I dial someone. When I do dial someone, they just see a pic of me when the connection is made, but they're not seeing me. I can see them fine. I see a little green dot in the upper right corner before I dial them which makes me think the camera is working but then when I do dial them, it turns orange. I see them, but no smaller screen shot of myself in the corner.

Any thoughts? Running latest version of IOS 17 on iPhone 12 Pro and latest updates on Apple TV.
