Macbook Pro keeps crashing..

I have a 2019 MBP i7 2.6GHz. We purchased it 2 weeks ago (used in flawless condition). It worked great for a week, then we loaded the Time Machine backup from our old 2014 MBP, and now it keeps crashing. It's done it over 60 times. I copied the log report hoping someone could help.

It is most likely a hardware failure which will require the Logic Board to be replaced. The Kernel Panic is referencing a GPU or video chip issue:

GPU Panic: [3:0:0][PPLIB] Failed Power Play Initialization.

There is a small chance the problem could be caused by some third party software which is installed which may have come from the backup. It is also possible an externally connected device may have caused the problem.....an external display is most likely, but it could be anything.

Make sure all your third party apps are completely up to date with their latest versions since they may be out of date on the 2014 model since some developers may have stopped support of Big Sur.

Also make sure you are not using any anti-virus apps, cleaning /optimizer apps, or third party security software since they are known to cause all sorts of issues.

FYI, it will not surprise me if it is a hardware issue since the Logic Boards on these 2019 models (especially the 16" model) have a lot of issues in my own personal experience and from numerous posts on these forums. You may have just discovered why the previous owner was selling it.

Try doing something you were doing with the main user account. Some app which is utilizing the GPU is triggering the issue. The issue may even be intermittent especially if it is a hardware issue as I suspect. Like I mentioned in my previous post, the Logic Boards on the 2019 models (especially the 16" model) have an extremely high rate of failure in my own personal experience while supporting my organization's thousands of Macs, plus what I've seen reported in posts here on these forums where Logic Board failures of the 2019 models seem to be much higher than any other model.

BTW, your Kernel Panic report shows you have a MBPro 16,1 model which is actually a MBPro 16" (2019) model. See another post I made a while back which also dealt the GPU related Kernel Panics for 2019 models....this other post includes links to a few other posts with very similar Kernel Panics:

I'm 95% certain you have a hardware issue with this laptop.
