Turn off Apple Watch widgets (Series 9)

Just got a new Apple Watch Series 9 - and am running WatchOS 10.0.2. The widgets are annoying - they randomly appear when I twist my wrist or raise my wrist to look at my watch, and of course, they obscure the watch face. I would like to just turn them off - but can’t figure out to do that. Any suggestions?

Hi Dean3000,

From the article Use the Smart Stack to show timely widgets on Apple Watch:

"Open the Smart Stack

  1. Press the Digital Crown to show the watch face if it isn’t showing.
  2. Turn the Digital Crown to scroll down until you see widgets."

If you are accessing the Smart Stack unintentionally it might suggest that the Digital Crown is being triggered by your movement. You can try repositioning the Apple Watch or even inverting it so that the Digital Crown is on the opposite side if this happens more frequently than you wish.

Regards.
