In prior iOS of 17 we had GIF for text messages such as birthdays and many others. Don’t understand stickers or how to attach GIF’s. Please for us illiterate seniors come back with the bubble/ballon for gif’s

iMessage apps, including the iMessage app used to send GIFs, are accessed in a different way as of iOS 17.
To send GIFs, open up a conversation in the Messages app. Then, tap the "+" icon to the left of the text box. This will reveal some of your iMessage apps. Tap the #images app if you see it.
If you don't see the #images app, tap "More" at the bottom.

The update not only took GIF’s but flipped the list . Like others the update only created problems for us users. So where are the GIF’s hiding?

I don’t know how you figured this out, but you are a genius. Thank you so much. Shame on Apple for not looking at this from the user’s perspective. What else is it about except the users?
They had 3 peoples working on this. In order to receive credit for the design each person added a step so they could have their etched in stone.
I still can’t find my Gif on my text and it’s taking too much effort and time which is valuable! I see why people don’t update their phones 😡

That fix doesn’t work on my iPad. When I click the plus button it takes me to a screen to send money and nothing else, no more icons or anything. Anyone else having this problem?
Please change it back. It’s far too complicated now
