Trying to update Apple Studio Display software. It kicks me out and tells me to contact Support?

Updating is not working. I have updated to Sonoma. Both were done today, but Display did not update.

My Studio Display is bricked after 16.4 update! 2 days ago I tried to install the 16.4 firmware update for the Studio Display and it bricked it. Since then it has been stuck in an endless loop alternating between the support.apple.com/display/restore screen and the 3 dots with the message saying it is updating. Followed all the instructions on the "restore" page and the problem persists. I've tried to reset the display by unplugging it. Didn't help. How can I resolve this?? Maybe there is a way to re-install the software/firmware on the display? Please help!!

Problem updating display firmware to version 17 Suggestion: After updating my MacMini M2 to Sonoma, another update for the firmware for the display was requested. This update attempted at least 6 times and continued to not install. I attempted to screen share into the Mini but was unable to establish a connection to it. I unplugged an external Lacie USB-C hard drive from the display and the next time the update attempted, the update was successful. I suggest removing any external USB devices from the display prior to updating firmware.
