iPad 6. Time to upgrade?

I have an iPad 6 and apparently its too old to download Logic Pro X. I'm stuck with Garageband. Also, games shut down, and my iPad cannot charge as fast as games drain them, even when I'm plugged into a 3A charger with brightness at 1% and Airplane mode on.

Living without a headphone jack seems impossible, so my first instinct is to upgrade to an iPad 9.

Please tell me which one I should buy - money IS a factor. My PC has 30TB of Hard Drive Space and is a video editing beast so I understand these little toys are no match with a maximum size of less than 1TB.

Even so, I find making music on them easy to use on the go and I play games on my iPad every day, often for more than five hours, if the battery lasts that long.

Please advise.

If you opt for a newer, but older ( new or refurbed ) iPad 9th generation, do not cheap out on it.

Purchase the largest storage option available.

I believe that is the 256 GBs storage option.

You'll get longer life out of the device, even after Apple stops fully supporting it.

A 64 GBs storage iPad starts out with approx. 60 GBs.,after initial internal flash drive formatting.

Minus approx. 7.0 GBs for iOS/iPadOS leaves between 52-53 GBs.

Minus 3-6 GBs, for iOS/iPadOS system operational reserve, that MUST BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES, to ensure/insure normal, expected operation of iOS/iPad OS, leaves approx. between 48-50 GBs of actual, usable data storage space.

256 GBs storage iPad starts out with approx. 238.5GBs.,after initial internal flash drive formatting.

Minus approx. 7.0 GBs for iOS/iPadOS leaves 231-230 GBs.

Minus 3-6 GBs, for iOS/iPadOS system operational reserve, that MUST BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES, to ensure/insure normal, expected operation of iOS/iPad OS, leaves approx. between 224-228 GBs of actual, usable data storage space.

Do as you will.

Why would you go with the 9th generation when the 10th generation is out?

Ipad Air 5th gen is can be also considered if you want something between the 10th gen and the iPad Pro both as pricing and performance wise.

By the way on your 6th gen is can be a battery performance issue, old or damaged battery or/and using not a proper charger. With plugged in the charger is supposed to keep the iPad on when you using a 12watt iPad charger.

Cheers!
