Why do my original AirPods work for 15 seconds, and then quit? They show a good charge and a Reset doesn’t help.

What is the device you are using there with? It may be a misconfiguration on the device itself.


Troubleshooting AirPod Connectivity Issues:

Where to go from here:

A. Troubleshoot the Pairing:

Disable Bluetooth on all but one device — the one device you want to synchronize with these with.


B. Troubleshoot the Connection:

Using this via these Apple Support links, troubleshoot this.


C. Verify the Balance:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: General
  3. Tap: Accessibility
  4. Scroll Down: to Hearing
  5. Adjust: the audio volume balance


D. Clear Out Earwax:

E. Provide Feedback:

It is best that you provide feedback ob this is Apple.  Apple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - AirPods - Apple - Apple
  2. Select: "Performance" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: on when you came across this issue, and how you have troubleshot it thus far.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

Confirm these are Still Paired:

So, going in to Settings > Bluetooth, do you see these under My Devices? If not, then they keep getting removed from your Bluetooth device history. If so, then they are not being removed, and are just waiting another chance to be seen and then pair.


Troubleshooting Bluetooth Inaccessibility:

I. Is this a Company-Owned Device?

If this is not your iPhone, but rather someone else' s (i.e. work's or schools), then this would be popping up.


II. Troubleshooting iPhone Bluetooth Pairing:

A. Visit these Links:




B. Reset All Network Settings to Default:

Example of items that will be reset: (Wi-Fi Passwords, VPN Connections, etc)

  1. Go To: Settings
  2. Tap: General
  3. Tap: Reset
  4. Tap: Reset Network Settings.
  5. Enter: [Your Passcode
