Pages files corrupted with upgrade to Sonoma

I do a lot of desktop publishing as a business.

Today, when a partner updated their computer to Sonoma, and then opened our shared file, many images and captions changed in a 300 page document.

This happened on a brand new 24 inch iMac that I had to buy Monday because my 27 inch iMac could not collaborate anymore.

on a perfectly good computer, we received the error message “ in order to collaborate, you will need to either use iCloud or purchase a newer computer”

there are no borders on the pictures anymore, the images are now overlapping text.

It’s bad enough that you have to purchase a brand new computer to get the same functionality you already had but now the files are corrupted.

Apple has this to say about current collaboration requirements: Intro to collaboration in Pages - Apple Support and if you are out of sync with that criteria, then you may experience issues with shared documents. Pages v3.2 requires at minimum, macOS Ventura 13.0 and if your Mac hardware cannot support Ventura, you will have collaboration issues.

I have a perfectly good Late-2013 iMac sitting here that is still usable, just not for current operating system or Pages versions for the same reason.
