I'm worried about a data recovery tool on my MacBook
Hello everyone
So I have a problem which I just cant get over with or you could say which gives me anxiety about my icloud and device security. I hope some of you know security and software and thr architecture of apple well enough to help me out or preferably calm me down...
So some weeks ago I perma deleted a note I needed. So i downloaded this iphone data recovery tool "Aiseesoft Fonelab" on my macbook m2. The gatekeeper popup told me I can install it and it was last checked for malware by apple some days ago. So no problem there my macbook let me download and install.
I then scanned the iphone with the free trial scan by connecting to my macbook. It did not find the note who would have thought hahaha so I deleted the software from my macbook. I never entered any apple-id credentials or my PIN.
Now some days ago i got this thought out of nowhere. Could this software have placed spyware or keylogger or anything like this on my iPhone or Macbook or is this absolutely impossible? My devices are not jailbroken of course... Because if it was possible they could have found my apple-id credentials or PIN and even access the 2fa code to log into my icloud. Maybe my sync data or icloud drive could be manipulated to install hidden software to spy remotely to my devices even again after if i reset them...
All my Apple Devices are always on the newest OS version and I use 2FA.
I have not detected any activity on my icloud or devices (But there is my thought well I forward my apple-id mail to my icloud mail so once someone is in he can immediately delete the notification mail hahaha)
Is all of this even possible or is it just me getting this unrealistic thoughts and cant calm down? Would highly appreciate if someone who maybe have some knowledge could assess and hopefully calm me down.
