Emoji and Microphone icons missing

Can you clarify which app you're referring to? Knowing this will help narrow things down and work out the best steps you can try for troubleshooting.

Also, when you say they're on the side of the screen, where are you referring to?

If you're referring to Messages, you might mean the iMessages apps as shown here. With iOS 17, the microphone icon is replaced by a red waveform icon that you can see below: Use iMessage apps in Messages on iPhone - Apple Support

If that's not what you're referring to, try to Restart your iPhone and test to see if that helped. Let us know.

It sounds like the keyboard might be zoomed in a bit if the icons are shown but just not centered or inline with the keyboard.

Let's check if this is set up by following these steps:

1. Go to Settings  > Accessibility > Zoom, then turn on Zoom.

2. Adjust any of the following:

* Smart Typing: Switch to Window Zoom when a keyboard appears.
