monitor audio control is grayed after OS update

Once I rebooted my macBook Pro M1, before the login I can control my audio from monitor joystick, once I login in my computer all controls are grayed out and I can't even control it from mac.

The monitor is connected via usb port - C.

Before the update I could change volume without any problem.

actually I've installed eqmac right after the issues with audio, for some it solved the audio control problems, I thought it was completely uninstalled. Will uninstall it right now and will run the check again

I was hoping that those would work; then it would be something due to third party software.

This way, it appears that something in Sonoma is causing this problem.

You may want to check with BenQ if there is some firmware update for this display (which appears unlikely, but still worth to check). I stymied.

If you make changes before logging it, do these changes stick?

macOS "upgrade" to macOS Sonoma...

"monitor joystick" ?

I would search the developers website for Support/Help/FAQ/known issues/compatibility /updates...

for your "The monitor "...

I wonder if that open source eqmac software may need to be updated to be compatible with Sonoma.

There are also some crashes or high cpu usage reports that seem to be associated with audio:

Diagnostics Information (past 7-30 days):

2023-10-06 09:51:54 audioaccessoryd High CPU Use

Executable: /System/Library/CoreServices/audioaccessoryd

2023-10-06 09:51:42 audiomxd High CPU Use

Executable: /usr/libexec/audiomxd

Maybe the two things are related.

I would check with the developers. In the meantime, you can try uninstalling and see if the problem goes away; if not, you can install it again.

yes, on the back of my external monitor, Benq ew2880u, I have controllers and the main one is the joystick to navigate through the menu, change luminosity and volume.

This problem has appeared right after I've installed the macOS Sonoma.

I don't think it's something related to the Third party vendor, 'cause before the login on my computer I can change the volume.

This is what's happening.
