Apple TV won't pair with Bose Home 300 speaker

My Apple TV [Model A1489 with software v7.9(8163)] with 5 bars of signal strength will not connect to my Bose Home 300 speaker.

When I attempt a bluetooth connection (restart all devices and enter discovery mode on both) the apple tv just loads and never recognizes my speaker (it's right beside the apple tv).

I airplayed a video from my ipad to apple tv, then with the remote opened the audio settings and selected my bose speaker as the airplay audio output (it's connected over wifi as well as bluetooth). It just won't work.

When I try streaming music from my ipad and selecting my speaker over the airplay mode it works just fine.

When I connect my ipad to the speaker via bluetooth it works perfectly.

There are no amber lights on my speaker, i just got it repaired from bose (because it bricked itself in a software update after only 4 months...).

Please help!
