Adding a wordpress site to my MacBook Air (M1)

Am attempting to setup WordPress on my MacBook. I have come from a Win10 environment and am wanting to use a MacBook but have not used any Mac device prior to now. Any comments on how to do this are appreciated as I transition to a Mac device.
